CAROLINE RUSH – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF BRITISH FASHION COUNCIL TO OFFICIALLY OPEN HUAWEI ARAB FASHION WEEK – HAFW

Rush Along with President of the Arab Fashion Council, Cavaliere Mario Boselli will Officiate the Start of the Women’s Fashion shows which will take place on October 8, 9 & 10.

Over 23 Regional and International Designers will Showcase at the 3rd Edition of HAFW.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 7th October 2016:  Following a successful first day, the Huawei Arab Fashion Week ’s (HAFW) is proud to present two esteemed fashion world icons who will officially kick start the 3rd edition. Caroline Rush, CEO of London Fashion Week and Cavaliere Mario Boselli, Honorary President of the Arab Fashion Council (AFC) share over 70 years of industry experience as recognised leaders in the fashion world.

As part of the HAFW’s aim to place Dubai on the global fashion calendar through the establishment of the world’s only ‘Ready-Couture’ platform, both Rush and Boselli will initiate the three days dedicated to womenswear on Saturday October 8th right before the start of Arwa Al Ammari’s show at 7:30pm.

His Excellency Cavaliere Mario Boselli is the Honorary President of both the Arab Fashion Council (AFC) and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (National Chamber of Italian Fashion). His interest in fashion started in 1959 when he worked at his father’s silk mill, and grew to him developing and establishing companies dedicated to textiles, fashion and ready-to-wear clothing. He has since been appointed to prestigious industry designations including Cavaliere del Lavoro (1990), Commandeur de l’Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur (France 2002) and Cavaliere di Gran Croce Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana (2007).

Caroline Rush CBE, is Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, and while promoting and organizing the British fashion industry, particularly through London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards, is an avid supporter of emerging fashion markets. Rush was appointed British Fashion Council joint chief executive in March 2009, and received a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2015 for services to the British fashion industry.

During the HAFW, Rush and Boselli will conduct lectures at workshops on fashion design held and in partnership with the American University in the Emirates (AUE). Registration is required for the remaining workshops and can be done via the website.

The third edition of the Huawei Arab Fashion Week (HAFW) continues to create connections and a growing network between local, regional and international fashion industry players. Ongoing until October 10, the 5 day program features designer exhibitions, workshops and fashion shows at The Meydan Hotel.
