After fleeing Iran, Megan relocated to London, England. She received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London where she began her studies at age 21. During her tenure as a PhD student, she worked extensively in preventive DNA testing for breast and ovarian cancer.

She has been the face of campaigns for Michael Cinco Dubai, Timberland Middle East, Guerlain, Amato Dubai, Ipsy, and Bulgari Jewelry Middle East. In January 2017, Pormer competed with 2,000 other models to become the face of the skincare brand, Skinue. In December 2017, Pormer was made the face of the Turkish clothing brand, Kotton. In January of 2018, Megan modeled for Epuri Energy Drink. Later in 2018, she became the face and partner of eye-wear brand Fade Shades.
